Diabetic Plans

Your diet should help you lose weight and keep your diabetes under control.

You know by now that losing weight and keeping your diabetes in check go hand in hand. Nutrisystem has a special plan for diabetics that promotes long-term weight loss while helping achieve stable blood glucose levels.

Nutrisystem® D™ adheres to the nutritional recommendations of the American Diabetes Association and features a low-glycemic menu that includes 28 days of perfectly portioned meals. Specifically designed for people with Type 2 Diabetes, Nutrisystem D is also appropriate for people who are overweight and have type 1 diabetes or who have pre-diabetes.

In fact, results from a clinical trial show that people on the Nutrisystem D program lost about 1.5 pounds per week and lowered their HbA1C by 0.9% compared to those in the control group.

  • Nutrisystem® Omega-3 Softgels that provide a natural source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids in a convenient one-a-day supplement
  • Gourmet, fresh-frozen cuisine including Chef’s Table® entrees created by Nutrisystem’s acclaimed Culinary Council
  • Delicious ready-to-go menu items that are specially packaged for portability

Getting started

Nutrisystem recommends that you consult your physician before starting any weight loss or exercise program, especially if you are taking any diabetes medications, as your dosages may need to be adjusted.

If you have diabetes, please call the Nutrition and Dietary Services department to speak with a Nutrisystem dietitian at 1-888-849-4686. He or she will review the details of the Nutrisystem D program with you and can answer questions about your specific situation.
