Is there a Nutrisystem program for vegans?
Although Nutrisystem offers a lacto-ovo vegetarian plan, none of the programs fit the needs of a traditional vegan diet.
How should I store my Nutrisystem foods?
The majority of Nutrisystem foods are packaged for portability. This is a great way to ensure that you’re always on plan. Only Nutrisystem® Select foods need to be kept frozen until eaten. Many Nutrisystem® entrees are sealed through a soft canning process (similar to tomatoes or peaches). This process locks in nutrition and great taste so you get fresh-tasting foods that don’t require refrigeration and are ready to go whenever and wherever you are.
What kinds of bread or rolls can I use with my Nutrisystem foods?
A few Nutrisystem entrees such as the hot dog, hamburger, chicken patty, vegetable fajita, and chicken and tuna salads require you to include a whole grain bun or roll. Nutrisystem recommends that this roll be approximately 1 oz. or 80-120 calories.
What kinds of yogurt can I use for a dairy/protein serving?
Nutrisystem recommends fat-free light yogurt that contains approximately 120 calories and at least 7 grams of protein.
Do I need to eat vegetables and fruits while on the program?
The Nutrisystem program combines Nutrisystem foods with healthy grocery items to help you achieve a balanced diet. When you eat a variety of fruits and vegetables along with protein or dairy and fats, you will be eating nutritious foods for optimal health. There’s plenty of room in the program for you to include the types of fruits and vegetables you enjoy.
